1. What is uhp 600mm graphite electrode?
Graphite electrode 600mm means ultra high power graphite electrode with diameter ≥600mm, allowed to use graphite electrode with current density greater than 25A/cm 2, mainly used in ultra high power steelmaking arc furnace.
Graphite electrode is mainly made of petroleum coke and needle coke as raw materials, coal asphalt as binder, and is made by calcining, batching, mixing, pressing, roasting, graphitization and machining. It is the conductor that releases electric energy in the form of arc to heat and melt the charge in arc furnace. According to their quality indexes, graphite electrodes can be divided into three categories: ordinary power graphite electrode (RP grade), high power graphite electrode (HP grade) and ultra-high power graphite electrode (UHP grade).
