By:Yvonne Mar 24, 2021
Ultra-high power graphite electrode is the highest grade electrode. It has the highest production efficiency when used in electric arc furnace.
► What is the ultra high power graphite electrodes?
Graphite electrode structure drawing
Ultra high power graphite electrode is composed of body and nipple, Used as conductive material on EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) and LF (Ladle Furnace) for steelmaking.
Ultra high power graphite electrode refers to a kind of ultra high power graphite based electricity conduction material, which adopts petroleum coke, needle shaped coke as aggregate, coal asphalt as binder, and are processed by complex crafts such as calcining, crushing, milling, batching, mixing, forming, roasting, impregnating, graphitization and mechanical processing.
According to the rate power, graphite electrodes can be divided into regular power (RP) graphite electrode, high power (HP) graphite electrode, ultra high power (UHP) graphite electrode.
► Ultra high power graphite electrodes price
According to market trend, Ultra high power graphite electrodes prices are from 2200 USD/MT to 6000 USD/MT. The graphite spot electrode price only for reference. Please consult graphite electrode manufacturers for quotation.

► Graphite Electrodes price evolution in the last ten years (2010 - 2020).
In 2020, the market price of graphite electrode in China has dropped significantly, with the price of ultra-high 550mm and 600mm graphite electrode dropping by 17% compared to the end of March and 60% compared to the same period in 2019. At present, the price of graphite electrode is basically close to the historical low, but the price of raw materials is relatively high at this stage, so suitable for ordering.

Ultra high power graphites Diameters and Lengths of Electrodes:
A low spot may be accepted only if the diameter measured at the low sport is not more than 3 mm below the min diameter specification.
Each shipment contain 5% short electrodes may be accepted unless the acceptable percentage of short electrodes per delivery is decided by agreement between the supplier and user.
