Graphite electrode is an indispensable conductive material in electric arc furnace or ladle furnace. During use, the graphite electrode is consumed in the furnace. There are many factors affecting the consumption of graphite electrode, such as high temperature, oxidation, arc heating and so on.
There are many factors affecting electrode consumption, such as the electrical conductivity of scrap steel, the efficiency of spray water cooling of electrode, the efficiency of manual operation of oxygen lance, etc.
The consumption of the electrode is mainly the consumption and fracture of the tip, and the oxidation of the surface around the electrode.

Electric arc furnace electrode uses
The CO2 emission of EAF steel-making is only 25%, the solid waste emission is only 1/30, and the energy consumption is about 50%, which has obvious advantages over traditional steel-making. Electric arc furnace steel-making is open and stop, production is efficient and flexible, can consume city scrap steel and other advantages.
In the global steel industry electric furnace steel accounted for more than 40%, there is still a lot of room for growth.
