Aisi 304 stainless steel meaning

Aisi304 means American Iron and Steel Institute, 304 is a stainless steel grade consisting of three Arabic numerals, the first digit indicates the type of steel. The second and third digits indicate the sequence number.
AISI 304 is a steel grade developed and evolved on the basis of the 18-8 type austenitic stainless steel originally invented. This steel is the main steel grade of stainless steel, and its output accounts for more than 30% of the total stainless steel output. Because this steel has an austenitic structure, it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, and only cold deformation can be used to increase the strength.
